What Causes Addiction?
There is no one single cause for addiction that can be pinpointed as a cause that fits every addict. There are numerous causes and a ton of different factors that go into addiction and that can affect the addict and how they become and stay addicted. Generally speaking, environment, mental health, and status, and socioeconomic standing all have a great impact.
A good example would be to look at someone that only makes below the poverty line in terms of money every year. This causes stress, it often causes that person to live in areas where drugs are more easily accessible, it may force them to do things that they would not do if they made more money, and it may make becoming exposed or addicted easier. This does not mean that only poor people become addicted, sometimes people are dealing with past trauma that makes it necessary to use to help mask that pain and to forget what happened. No matter what the cause, addiction can be overcome and you can live a happy and healthy life.
Living a Healthy Life
Healthy living has so many positive outcomes aside from just helping people recover from addiction. Taking the time to consider and evaluate your own mental health, what you are dealing with and to make an actionable plan can help you to get out of unhealthy habits, both physically and mentally, and to figure out what you need to do to live a healthy and mindful life.
Things like mental health are often overlooked when we think of healthy living, mental health is a huge factor that affects all aspects of our lives whether we realize it or not. Neglecting your mental health is one of the biggest factors when it comes to falling into unhealthy habits that might lead us to do things that are not healthy or that can cause us physical harm. Taking care of your mental health can help you to get to a better headspace so that you can take those steps to a healthier life be it eating better, exercising, or getting rid of people and things in your life that make you unhappy and make it hard to live a healthy life.
Mindfulness is important and can make a huge difference in how you approach the world and how you are able to process things that happen to you and that happen around you.
